We talked to some of our favorite influencers about the importance of feel-good design - that the objects we surround ourselves with shouldn’t just look good, they should make us feel good. This is especially true when it comes to the Aura Smith frame, which combines top-of-the-line looks with warm-your-heart vibes. See how the Smith frame can be both the centerpiece of any room, and the vehicle for sharing and enjoying favorite memories in this week’s installment of “Smith Styling,” featuring Brianna Mannion-King of Brianna Mannion Interiors.
Have you ever looked at a photo from Apartment Therapy and wondered how they do that? We do. We’re always blown away by the talent of interior designers and the personality and beauty they bring to homes. We got in touch with Brianna Mannion-King of Brianna Mannion Interiors to talk shop and share how she’s designed her own home.
Brianna shared her love of the outdoors and how that inspires her design process. Read on to learn more about Brianna’s passion for blending old and new decor, how she styled her Aura Smith Frame, and her upcoming wedding (congrats, girl!!).
Give us an intro!
Hello! I'm Brianna, Owner and Lead Designer at Brianna Mannion Interiors. I’ve lived in Seattle WA with my fiance and Bernese mountain dog, Charlie, for almost three years now but am originally from Boston.
How would you describe the interior style of your home?
I believe no matter what interior styles you gravitate towards - the most important thing is that a home should feel like home. It should be a place of warmth; a personal sanctuary you look forward to coming home to. My design sensibilities reinforce those visual ideals - it’s mid-century modern at the core but with plenty of Scandinavian influences peppered in with my Chinese heritage. I love incorporating modern, iconic pieces while making them less stuffy and more accessible in everyday arrangements.
Some of my favorite home decor brands right now are Article, Crate & Barrel, Design Within Reach, Dims Home, Rove Concepts and W.O.W.
What do you love about the Smith frame? How’d you style it in your home?
I love the timeless style and flexibility the frame offers when designing. The sleek frame adds subtle contrast while enhancing the ambiance of the room! I have styled it in my living room at the moment to share some of my favorite memories as a couple with family and friends as we prepare for the wedding. It's a great way to connect and share moments from trips or special occasions that tell the story of our love!
What's a favorite memory you have in your home?
We have so many wonderful memories here from the past 2.5 years but I have to say the one I am most looking forward to is yet to come. Like many other couples, we had to cancel our wedding plans this past June with complications from COVID and as an alternative, we will be celebrating with a few family and friends in our backyard. I am so looking forward to sharing our special day in our favorite place, our home!
